Bare Home 100% Organic Cotton Percale Cover Set
Merit Minute:
I started using this duvet cover in October 2024. I am rather pleased! After washing, the fabric maintained its color, and it feels like it has a nice soft/crisp balance. I made sure to use the ties to secure my down duvet (see which down duvet I purchased). The buttons seem like a good quality and secured the duvet well. The duvet cover feels pleasant against my skin, without making me feel hot.
I have the Bering Sea color. The chose a dark color as my bedroom is all whites and creams and felt like a dark color will ground the room. The color is a beautiful shade in between navy and grey.
I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what type of fabric I want my duvet cover to be and it seemed like choosing cotton percale was the right choice. Here is more about what cotton percale means:
Percale weave is characterized by a one-over-one-under pattern, where the weft thread passes over one warp thread and then under another. This creates a tight, grid-like structure with a smooth, flat finish and a matte appearance.
Percale is often made from high-quality cotton fibers, like long or extra-long staple cotton, but it can also be made from cotton blends with other fabrics. Percale is a common choice for high-end hotels and those who want a five-star feel at home.
In general, percale sheets are known for being lightweight, breathable, and cool to the touch, so they make them a favorite among hot sleepers and those of us living in warmer climates.
